It is not a service manual. Please check the information we publish in the "Additional Information" column. In it we explain what issue is corrected or improved with the firmware update. Please also note the update number, since in some cases several of the products we offer are included in the same update. Right here's a picture, I took it whilst on the SciFi Channel, which usually has terrible source material, and the white lines show up more.
Take note the picture was taken on my mobile, I don't have a digiotal camera at hand:. Terry Guest. Hi there, Does anybody know whether Sony will be releasing the the firmware update in the uk? The U. S consumers are getting usb fobs sent to them to 'fix' the clouding effect. Scott Active Member. Thanks Dan. Scott said:.
Can anyone explain what might cause what's shown in the pic I uploaded? Jong1 Well-known Member. Guys im just trying to read portions of this thread to confirm buying a x This flickering obviously is a question as too is the mura effect thing. Im just trying to work out if this only happens on interlaced signals then why are they being used? If you are viewing sky etc would you not just put it in p. I suppose using p adds an extra scaling step in the TV to get to natvie lines so a i signal may be suited better.
I suppose then thats a trade off between the panel de-interlacing i or it upscaling p. What are peoples thoughts? Also is there news of a newer spec x series coming out? I dont want to be bitten like i was with the V which is fantastic where i get it and then 2 months later the w comes out which does p.

I realise that once tuned into it it may be irritating, but anything that has taken 6 months to be noticed by just one person, and which has never been raised in any review is not a major fault. Lyris said:. Not saying that it's not annoying - I'm just saying that I'm not surprised.
Deinterlacing can be incredibly difficult for a processor to do. If you see this problem a lot and it's really annoying, then you might want to look towards an external processor to try and escape it.
Interfernce maybe? I havn't a clue. Thats the exact pattern I saw when I was browsing bravia's at the shops. I saw it on the 46x when I was standing right up next to it and I thought it was weird for one of the most expensive tv's there to have it. I'll try a good quality Scart cable see if it makes a difference.
But I still can't find out what it may be, been searching the web quite a bit, but nothing I find seems to explain this grid like pattern. It does look like noise which could be the cable. That kind of thing won't say I have seen exactly what you are seeing is also quite common when using s-video from the TV-out of a PC graphics card due to cheap components packed very closely together. In stores the TVs are often linked in extended distribution systems, which also add a lot of noise. In it we explain what issue is corrected or improved with the firmware update.
Please also note the update number, since in some cases several of the products we offer are included in the same update. In this case we recommend you buy only one of them. It usually contains 1 or 2 pages. Please note that a service bulletin is NOT a service manual.
Issue: "The panel part numbers have changed. If replacing the panel, make sure that the proper software version is installed. Issue: "While viewing VHS material the picture may intermittently blank out during a short period of time.
