Go down the middle passage and open the two chests for a Life Bottle and a Cape. Return and go up the stairs to the left. A scene starts. Then you will enter a battle. After, go through the hallway to the north and keep going north.

After another scene, enter the room on the right. Check the fireplace to find an Egg. Return to the main hallway and continue north. Open the chest behind the guard for a Life Bottle. Continue to the left and open the chest for an Apple Gel from the chest. Continue to the south and take the first left exit and open the chest for Gald. Return to the previous hallway and keep heading south until a scene starts. When you are ready, enter the room for your first boss fight.

Secret Mission: Defeat Zagi while keeping damage to your teammate to a minimum. Note: If you are trying to fill out the Monster Book, use a Magic Lens on Zagi at the beginning of the fight and use a second one on him during the second phase. Strategy: This first boss can be brutal your first time through the game. If you haven't learned to block by now, it's time to learn. Zagi hits every bit as hard and fast as you can. So your HP can drop faster than you might expect.

For the first part of this fight, abuse free run and lure him into missing an attack. Then combo him and block immediately after to minimize the damage you receive from a counterattack. Once you have dealt enough damage to him, a scene will interrupt the fight. After the scene, phase two of this fight begins. Seems you have some unexpected backup, and you're going to need it.

I highly suggest you go to the strategy settings and set your new teammate to keep their distance from Zagi , as well as give them the order to only heal. That way they will stay out of the fight and support you with their healing spells.

This will also help you accomplish the Secret Mission as well. As you need to minimize damage to your teammate to achieve it.

As for Zagi himself, it is not recommended that you free run to lure him into attacking anymore. His attacks have become harder to dodge. And if you are too passive, he will target your teammate and wipe them out in short order. Stand your ground and guard. You will take a lot of chip damage, but a constant flow of healing spells from your teammate should keep you going.

Guard against all of Zagi's attacks and counterattack every time you see an opening. If he ever runs after your teammate, immediately give chase and stop him. Keep it up and he will eventually fall. You will know that you have accomplished the Secret Mission if the golden text, 'Secret Mission Complete! If not, your teammate took too much damage.

If you passed the Secret Mission, you will get a special, extra drop from the battle. Passing all of the Secret Missions is needed for a Side Quest later. So if this is important to you, I suggest restarting the fight if you failed to accomplish the Secret Mission. Once you are back in control, head back inside the room. Check the closet above you for a Pineapple Gel and an Orange Gel. Check the trunk at the end of the bed to find an Apple Gel.

Check the table to find a Holy Bottle. Leave the kitchen. Return to the south end of the hallway just outside of the room where you fought Zagi and take the hallway leading west.

After the scene, go through the left door and head north for a scene. Go a little north and take the right hallway. Press the switch to lower the gate, creating a shortcut back to the kitchen. Go back out to the hall to the left and continue north and take the left exit. In the next room, go south and take the first right to another hall. Pick up a Life Bottle out of the chest and open the gate.

Go back to the previous hall and head south all the way to the end of the hall. Then south towards the statue. After the scene, open the chests for an Apple Gel and Orange Gel. Now move the statue to move on. You will be introduced to Encounter Links. Afterwards, you can move on. This place is pretty straight forward. Pull the blocks for a Holy Bottle and Gald. Then take the left path for Gald. Continue south and take a right path for an Orange Gel.

At the southwest, pull a block and go up the ladder to exit this place. After the scene, head south. Continue to the right to a save point. Then head south down the stairs. Head to the right and back to the Lower Quarter. After the scene, continue to the right for another scene. Once you are on the World Map, continue forward.

On the way, you will see a caravan. We can start our first Side Quest there. A scene will give you a tutorial on Weapon Skills. You will receive the Battle Book. Once you have control, be sure to avoid the drawbridge to the north as it will activate a scene that we don't want to start yet. Head northeast and enter the Guard Station using a door next to a standing guard.

Take the stairs up. You can find Milk and an Egg to the northeast. And an Apple Gel in a chest just below that. Now take the ladder up to the roof.

Head back down and out of the Guard Station. Now head to the lower left part of the area for an Orange Gel and a Magic Lens. Now you can head towards the drawbridge at the north.

After the scene, head down to the lower left section of the area for a scene. Now exit this place to the south. Head to the west from Deidon Hold and onto a plateau. Continue until you reach a forest.

Scene on entry. Proceed down the linear path until you reach a fork. Head right and open a chest for an Apple Gel. Return to the fork and continue north to reach another fork. Go north at this fork to find a chest containing an Iron Circlet.

Return to the fork and head right to a scene. You will receive a tutorial on Cooking. You will learn the Sandwich recipe. Have Estelle make Sandwiches lol from here on out and you will eventually learn the recipe for Rice Ball. There is no reason to learn this recipe or any of the others listed here right away. You probably don't have the ingredients to do so anyway. These extra recipes can be learned over the course of the game. So don't feel pressured to learn them immediately.

You don't need to refer to here again if you forget what recipes you have available to learn now or in the future. After the scene, open the chest to the northwest for a Magic Lens. Check to the south of that chest for another hidden chest containing a Bread and Egg.

You can save here as well. Continue to the east to find a chest containing a Hard Mail. Then keep going east which will eventually take you north. You will come upon another chest containing a Cape. Continue and a scene will eventually start. You will receive the Monster Book. After, open the nearby chest for a Life Bottle.

Backtrack to the west to find a path leading south to find a chest containing an Orange Gel. Now head back and take the path out of the forest. Now that Karol is in the party, we can eventually learn another recipe with him. Once you exit the forest, continue forward and you will spot an enormous tree.

That is Halure. Your next destination. After the scene, enter the house, Halure Mayor's Residence immediately to your north. Check the tree for a Magic Lens and the right part of the house for an Orange Gel. Head outside and follow the path across a bridge. Enter the next building. This is the Inn. Search the second room from the left on the second floor for an Apple Gel.

Follow the path outside and find Estelle. After the scene, continue to follow the path. You will enter another scene. Now continue to the top to reach the giant tree for another scene. Then head back down the path and across the bridge to where the General Store. Talk to the merchant for a scene. Then talk to Karol. Now you have to return to Quoi Woods. All you have to do in Quoi Woods is follow the path until you enter a scene.

You will get a Nia Fruit. Then continue to the left and then south. You will then be thrust into a boss fight. Strategy: Your top priority here is to take out the enemies that are backing the Eggbear up. If you try to attack the Eggbear first, the other enemies will constantly interrupt your attacks and also interrupt Estelle's healing spells.

So instruct your allies to spread out and focus on wiping them out as fast as you can. Once the back up enemies are gone, you can focus all your attention on the Eggbear. He hits very hard but very slow. Try to avoid getting caught in his attacks or you will hit the dirt fast. However, with Yuri, Repede, and Karol all teaming up on him, he should have very little chance to counterattack. Overall, this battle isn't very hard at all.

Afterwards, you will get the Eggbear Claw. Now head out of the forest. You will see a scene on the way. Then return to Halure. Once back in Halure, go talk to the General Store owner.

You will receive a tutorial on synthesis. After you are done, you will receive a Panacea Bottle. Return to the base of the giant tree for a scene. Now check the base of the tree for a Life Bottle. Check the nearby chests to the right for a Holy Bottle and a Nectar Bottle. Run down the path for a scene.

Then go to the Halure Mayor's Residence at the entrance of town for another scene. Now it's time to leave Halure again. Head east to the mountain with the giant cave. That is your next destination. After the scene, head towards the knights guarding the front gate for another scene. Afterwards, take the left path. Examine the strange object in the southwest corner of this area.

You will meet the Wonder Chef. He will teach you the Salisbury Steak recipe. There is an Inn and a shop here. You can find 3x Apple Gel in front of the Inn.

Once you are done here, continue up the stairs. Continue to the far east side of town to a hut. After the scene, check the junk around the room until a scene starts. After the scenes have all passed, there are a few things we can do. Inside Rita's house, climb up the ladder and examine the area next to her bed to get a scene and the Collector's Book.

When you spot the ruins, don't head inside quite yet. Continue down the trail past it to see the caravan again. Scene upon entry. From where you start, run all the way south.

Then look for a path leading to the right. You will find a chest with a Magic Lens. Head north and check behind a wall to the left to find a hidden chest containing an Orange Gel. Then go up the stairs at the north to find a chest containing Gald behind a pillar. Go back to the central path and take a left turn to find a chest with a Life Bottle.

Continue along the main road and a scene will start. Do not head down the hole yet. Instead, head up the stairs to find a chest containing a Half Guard nearby. Now you can descend into the hole for another scene. Go south across a bridge and open a chest for an Amber Cloak. Go down the left stairs, and open a chest containing Leather Boots on the way.

You will soon come to a scene. After the scene, continue south. Inspect the object for another scene. You will obtain the Sorcerer's Ring.

Shoot it when prompted for another scene. Go to the little platform north from there for a scene and a battle. Here you will learn about Surprise Encounters and Advantage Encounters. Then head north to claim an Apple Gel. Follow this path to another screen. Go to the far north and hit a blastia to your left with the Sorcerer's Ring. Now backtrack and go left to open a chest containing an Ohka.

Hit the blastia with your ring. Proceed down the new path and open a chest containing a Chain. Now go south and shoot the blastia. Open another chest holding a Long Sword and finally exit this screen to the north.

Head all the way to the left to open a hidden chest containing a Great Axe. Now follow this path and you can find a blastia under the first pillar you pass by. Hit it with your ring. Follow the path around until you find another blastia and hit it.

Kill all the golems that appear to make a new bridge appear. Cross it and open a chest to obtain a Stiletto. At the northwest end of the room, open the chest to get an Orange Gel and hit a nearby blastia. Now go to the northeast part of the room and hit that blastia as well to create a new path. Recover and save at the save point. When you are ready, approach the monstrous monstrosity at the north end of the room. And not just up close either. He can attack from a distance as well. The Goliath's magic defense is significantly less than his physical defense.

Distract him up close while Rita pummels him from a distance with spells. Don't hesitate to throw a few orange gels to Estelle and especially Rita to keep her fueled to cast spells, as it will be your chief form of offense. You will now have to backtrack all the way out.

So missable that it will often become impossible to continue if you don't perform the steps immediately when they are available. So treat the completion of this Side Quest with the utmost care. Once you return to Halure, you will get a scene on entry. After, follow the path to the base of the tree to find Rita and activate a scene.

Go back down the path for another scene. You will enter a battle where you learn how to use Over Limit. Don't forget to use a Magic Lens on your opponents. After the scene, you will end up on the World Map. Follow the road west to Ehmead Hill. After, follow the path for another scene. Now go up the path to yet another scene. Proceed and you will come to a fork. Go north and another scene will begin. Follow this path to a chest containing a Francisca.

Backtrack a little and take the lower path to find a chest containing 3x Poison Bottle. Now, go back to the first fork and take the right path. Continue east until you find a chest with a Melange Gel inside. Backtrack and go north this time where you'll find another fork. Go west for a Scarf. To the east is 2x Life Bottles. Keep following the path until you see a save point.

Take the northwest path near it to a save point. The chest to tne northwest has a Tama-hagane inside. Now this might sound strange. Follow Clare into the cave and enjoy the scene. From now you can use the native shrine, offer items and try to receive better items in return. Click on the bird parking , take the MRI Room Key inside , take the chest key and also the high powered magnet left room.

Open the chest in the cave. Follow Alia Estero Key. Use the lighter with Alia Estero Key enjoy the scene and pick up the talismans.

Go to Full Mast Bar, upstairs and fix the pipe with the pipe wrench and open the chest with the chest key inside the vase of the Libary. Go downstairs, enjoy the scene. Talk to the man outside the Library, then to Ash Squallmart , go back to the library and talk to Ash again Squallmart.

Church: Open the door lower left corner with the church key. Talk to Madalyn, Take the Chamber Key, and use it in the other room.
