Vista welcome logging off
Re-join and see if the problem comes back? How about the NIC drivers? Maybe updating them or rolling them back if they recently updated will change something.
My guess would be a stuck Windows Update. I would check update history to see if any failed and manually install them if necessary. Thanks for the suggestions. BSOD'D I have tried a couple of the suggestions mentioned in that article, system restore and clean boot but I will give the others a try and report back. NiKopka - I assumed it was update related as well, given it has only effected our Vista boxes, but I cannot see anything wrong there. Ok then.
Something is trying to write to the network at logoff and getting hung up waiting for a response. If that works, I would go back to Normal then go to the Services tab and select non-MS only and turn off all, then Startup and turn off all and try again. Whoops, apologies. LarryG actually came up with the solution in the end. The issue was related to a particular network card type , which explains why it only effected a handful of our machines.
Once I upgraded the network drivers on each of the machines they worked fine. Sorry, I don't remember the card type but I would strongly recommend downloading the newest drivers for yours :.
