Does anyone have any idea what I can do differently? It should just kinda go rite in place along as u have the actuator part in the right spot on it are u talking about the shaft won't slide it I just did mine so if u can take a pic of what u mean ill try and help u out a bit better.
Should just slide in. Install the governor in the clutch case cover assembly then install all that onto the crankcase. I've only had to jiggle it a bit but if you are forcing it something is wrong. The Yamaha power valves on the are prone to having failures, Yamaha has recognized the issue and has changed the design. If they last hours or 4 topends then so be it. It comes with the territory. If you truly think about it, the power valves are Not sure, but when you order the power valves there is a superseded part number. The new valves are different with regards to the pin. In 07 or 08 they also updated the governor spring which I updated as well.
It opens rpm sooner than the 05 spring. Vital MX - Motocross. Related: Edit Tags Done. Edit Tags Done. FGR01 wrote: They get sloppy. I rode the x recently and i think it needs about a 9 oz weight as well instead of just the timing and compression mods they've done to smooth it out. Yeah so ive found hahaha! Many people run vforce reeds with this governor spring mod and say it works well as a combo. Im still a fairly inexperienced rider only riding technical stuff for about a year.
And was told by Rob at motohub in Sunbury to start with the 13 oz model and as i get better just chuck it up in a lathe and shave some weight off. Im yet to ride the x but im hoping companies like procircuit and fmf start making pipes with a similar shape as its a lot more tucked up in the bike.

Today, several types of power valves exist, but mechanical and electrical are the majority. Electrical valves come equipped with electrical controls that allow more control over the opening and more precise tuning. This regulation in volume will directly influence the position of the power band in the RPM range.
The most basic explanation is if the size of the exhaust port is smaller, the exiting airflow is restricted. This restriction will reduce the power potential of the engine.
